The Missouri Gaming Commission has selected Draft Kings and the Las Vegas-based Circa Hospitality for the state’s two available sports wagering direct mobile licenses, according to a news release.
This selection comes after a meeting with three companies vying for a license on Wednesday. FanDuel made a case for a license but was not selected.
Further investigations will follow for Draft Kings and Circa Hospitality, according to the news release.
Under Amendment 2, narrowly approved by voters in November 2024, sports betting must launch in Missouri no later than Dec. 1.
For all other retail or mobile licenses, the Gaming Commission must receive completed applications by Sept. 12 if the applicant wishes to offer sports wagering starting Dec. 1.
“Winning one of Missouri’s first two untethered mobile betting licenses is a great honor,” Circa Sports CEO Derek Stevens said in a news release. “We came in as the long shot against national giants like DraftKings and FanDuel, but our licensure approval today proves there’s room for a different kind of operator.”
Circa Sports said it wants to take an active role in the community, from local events to supporting youth sports, according to the statement from Circa Sport’s CEO.
